Peanut Blossoms

Everyone loves these cookies.  I like to include them in an assortment for gifts.

1/3 cup peanut butter

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon soda

1-3/4 cups flour

2 packages chocolate kisses

Cream first three ingredients.  Add egg and vanilla.  Sift flour, soda and salt.  Combine with other mixture.  Shape into balls and dip in white sugar.  Bake at 375 degrees for 3 minutes.  Press in candy kisses.  Return and bake 5-6 minutes. Yield:  3 dozen.
