God is our Refuge

There is no escape from trials and tribulations in our lives.  However, nothing can enter our lives without God's approval.  In 1 Corinthians 10:13, the Bible says, "God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear."  God is always there for us.

God promises to be our refuge. Psalm 91:14-15 says, "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.  He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him."

Nahum 1:7  says, "The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble.  He cares for those who trust in him. "

Another verse found in 2 Samuel 22:31, says, "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless.  He is a shield for all who take refuge in him."  I love the word perfect in this verse.  We can never be perfect until we meet with God in heaven, but our heavenly Father is perfect in every way.  So there is no doubt about Him being our refuge.

In times of adversity, it is comforting to know that God never breaks a promise.  We can feel God's hand as our shield of protection through prayer and by trusting in His Word.
